Building the search engine of your mind

Working memory is the search engine of the mind. It is the cognitive function responsible for keeping information online, manipulating it and using it in your thinking. It is how you delegate the things you encounter in everyday life to the parts of your brain that can take action. Working memory is necessary for staying focused on a task, blocking out distractions and keeping you updated and aware about your surroundings.

Cogmed

We use our working memory constantly in daily life. It helps us perform efficiently and effectively in academic, professional, and social settings. Cogmed exists to help you improve your working memory to be better-equipped to meet your challenges. Cogmed provides a new, proven, and effective approach to addressing the serious challenges of attention problems in ADHD, TBI, stroke, and other conditions.

Cogmed Working Memory Training is a training program for people with poor working memory, other memory problems, and attention deficits. The program is based on published studies and developed by a team of neuroscientists. The peer-reviewed studies show that Cogmed training reduces symptoms of inattention in children and adults, by addressing weaknesses in working memory capacity.

At Behavioral Sciences of Alabama, we are uniquely qualified to treat a broad spectrum of memory problems in people of all ages. The proof of our success is in the significant number of referrals we get from our patients – and the significant number of unsolicited testimonials we receive from current and past patients.
