Summer Scott, M.A., graduated from the University of North Alabama in 2019 with a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She sees individuals, families, and couples, and works in our Intensive Outpatient Program for obsessive-compulsive and anxiety disorders. She provides counseling for the full range of human development from children through adults. Working under the supervision of David Barnhart, EdD, Licensed Counselor, she has garnered skills in clinical areas including depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and psychoeducational testing, among others.
Ms. Scott is a member of the Alabama Counseling Association and of Chi Sigma Iota, an international counseling honor society. She has received such awards as Outstanding Graduate Student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2019), Distinguished Academic Achievement (2016), and Outstanding Academic Achievement (2016).
In 2015, Ms. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Summa Cum Laude, from UNA. She was a member of the UNA Honors Program, the Psi-Chi Psychology Honors Program, and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
