Summer Scott, B.S., works as a clinical intern in our Intensive Outpatient Program for obsessive-compulsive and anxiety disorders. She provides counseling for the full range of human development from children through adults. Working under the supervision of Paul Bakke, M.S., Licensed Counselor, she has garnered skills in clinical areas including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, and couple and family relationships.
Currently, Ms. Scott is completing a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health. She is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, an international counseling honor society, and has received such awards as Outstanding Graduate Student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2019), Distinguished Academic Achievement (2016), and Outstanding Academic Achievement (2016).
In 2015, Ms. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of North Alabama (UNA) in Florence, Alabama. She was a member of the UNA Honors Program, the Psi-Chi Psychology Honors Program, and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. She conducted two research projects on campus and presented her findings at Research Day and at the S.O.B.I.E. conference in Destin, FL.
Ms. Scott has previous experience working in medical settings and assisting college students in obtaining co-op and internship opportunities in North Alabama. She is on track to graduate and complete her internship in December 2019.
